European Tastemakers Return to KLM Open 2024

Once again, a large collection of European golf stars is coming to the KLM Open, which will be played at The International from June 20 to 23, 2024. Besides defending champion Pablo Larrazábal and former winner Joost Luiten, Dane Rasmus Højgaard will also be competing at the golf course located near Amsterdam. Darius van Driel, who claimed his first tour victory in Kenya this year, will of course also be a highlight at the 104th edition of one of the DP World Tour’s most successful tournaments, this year featuring the highest-ever prize money of US$2.5 million.

Second Time at The International
The KLM Open will be organized for the second time at The International. In 2019, this relatively new golf course in Badhoevedorp was the venue for the 100th anniversary of both the Open and KLM. That successful 2019 edition was won by Spaniard Sergio García in a thrilling final against Nicolai Højgaard, the twin brother of Rasmus Højgaard.

Pablo Larrazábal, who was the eighth player from Spain to put his name on the KLM Open trophy last year, is also coming to the capital to defend his title. But that is not the only reason for his arrival: the popular Spaniard will also perform as a DJ during the KLM Open Friday afternoon drinks at The International, located near Amsterdam’s Zuid-As.

Qualifying for The Open Again
This year’s KLM Open will once again offer players the opportunity to qualify for The Open 2024. Since 2014, the R&A, organizer of The Open, has abolished continental qualifying tournaments and designated prestigious tournaments where two players can earn a starting spot. Tournament director Daan Slooter views this as a great honor and recognition of the quality of the KLM Open.

Dutch Top Trio
It is also certain that this year’s KLM Open will feature the three best Dutch players on the DP World Tour. The participation of this top trio, Joost Luiten, Darius van Driel, and Daan Huizing, who play almost weekly on the DP World Tour, has been confirmed. In addition, there are several ways for other Dutch golfers to qualify for the only international tournament on home soil. At a later date, the tournament management will also award a number of wildcards to talented players.

DP World Tour Stars
In addition to the aforementioned DP World Tour stars, Rasmus Højgaard, Pablo Larrazábal, South Africans Zander Lombard and Dylan Fritelli, and Italian Matteo Manassero will also be in attendance.

Great golf, good times
For fans of elite golf who want to attend the KLM Open but don’t have much time, and who may also want to network, there is a special ‘Great Golf, Good Times’ ticket available. The ticket is valid on Thursday or Friday afternoons from 14:30 and is priced at €15.00.

New Partners
The KLM Open organisation is pleased to announce that Tata Consultancy Services has returned as the official partner of the tournament. In addition, clothing brand CODE-ZERO has become the official clothing supplier of the tournament.

Tata Consultancy Services, which has been active in the Netherlands for over 32 years as a strategic innovation partner and IT service provider for leading Dutch organisations, is pleased to continue its partnership with the KLM Open in the coming years.

Josu Devasia, Managing Director of TCS Netherlands, said, “We are proud of this extension of our partnership with the KLM Open. For TCS, sport is incredibly important. TCS sponsors many major sporting events worldwide, promoting health and well-being for our employees and the communities in which we operate. We also believe that innovation happens when people and organisations from different sectors come together. The KLM Open provides an ideal platform for this. We look forward to the great 2024 edition, where new and sustainable partnerships will undoubtedly be forged.”

CODE-ZERO is a nautical lifestyle brand originally. The brand is the official clothing supplier and sponsor of international classic regattas, such as the Voiles de St. Barths. It is also associated with the king class of inshore sea sailing, the TP 52 Series.

Marc Blees, owner and founder of the brand, is proud of the partnership. “CODE-ZERO has grown at an unprecedented rate to become a clothing supplier for high-end sporting events in the nautical world. Soon after, we entered into a strategic partnership with the Stake F1 Team Kick Sauber. In short, we feel at home in a wide range of prestigious sporting events. The KLM Open, for example, is a wonderful addition to our portfolio.”
