Eneco returns to cycling

Eneco Tour from 2026 for men and women

The Tour of Holland will continue under the name Eneco Tour starting this year. After a ten-year absence, Eneco is once again the title sponsor of an international professional cycling race. A unique aspect is that the Eneco Tour will be organized simultaneously for both men and women, as the Simac Ladies Tour will be integrated into the Eneco Tour. The Eneco Tour will take place from October 13 to 18, 2026.

Eneco and TIG Sports & Events have entered into an agreement for a period of three years, with an option to extend to five years. This underlines not only their shared ambition, but also their commitment to a sustainable, long-term partnership. Simac and NIBC, the former title sponsors of the Simac Ladies Tour and the NIBC Tour of Holland, will remain involved in the upcoming edition.

The Eneco Tour is not a traditional stage race, but an innovative and compactly organized event that showcases the strength of the Netherlands as a cycling nation on an international level. Multiple stages across different provinces will be combined, with a strong focus on fan experience, sustainability, and inclusivity. This creates a modern and appealing sports platform: accessible, visible, and future-oriented.

The Eneco Tour marks the next step in strengthening the connection between Eneco, sport, and society. Cycling, deeply rooted in Dutch culture and everyday life, provides a natural platform for brand experience and aligns closely with Eneco’s values. In this context, the Eneco Tour will become increasingly sustainable in the coming years, while also offering opportunities for customers to experience the Tour, for example through clinics and recreational rides.

Selina Thurer, Chief Customer Officer and member of the Management Board at Eneco, says:
“We are delighted to return as a sponsor of cycling. The Eneco Tour and cycling in general fit seamlessly with our mission, ‘sustainable energy for everyone.’ With great enthusiasm, we will develop the Eneco Tour into ‘a sustainable event for everyone.’ The partnership with TIG Sports offers us a wealth of attractive commercial and societal opportunities to further strengthen the Eneco brand.”

Roxane Knetemann, Race Director of the Eneco Tour:
“The fact that a partner like Eneco, with such a strong history in sport, is joining at this moment says a lot. Eneco recognizes and acknowledges that the future of cycling lies in how we reorganize the sport: sustainable and inclusive. With a fully-fledged men’s and women’s race across the Netherlands, we are building a platform that is not only sportingly relevant, but also socially impactful. That gives confidence and energy for the long term.”
