Tour of Holland embraces six tour cycling events
TIG Sports & Events, organiser of the Tour of Holland, is joining forces with the Nederlandse Toer Fiets Unie (NTFU) and Central Events to create a special cycling experience. Not only professionals will be challenged to explore the Netherlands by bike this autumn, amateur cyclists can also experience the unique Dutch cycling landscape in six tours. A perfect combination of tradition and innovation within Dutch cycling.
The Tour of Holland is a new, six-day cycling event from 14-19 October 2025 that will have its first edition this autumn. The course not only promises top-level sport, but also aims to have a broad support base among recreational cyclists and local communities. With this collaboration, TIG Sports & Events, NTFU and Central Events aim to make cycling in the Netherlands accessible to everyone.
“The NTFU and Central Events have been leading in guiding and organising tour tours and events for sportive cyclists for many years. Their expertise and network are an important link to grow the Tour of Holland in a sustainable and inclusive way,” said Niels Markensteijn, of TIG Sports & Events, the initiator of the Tour of Holland.

With the collaboration, the Tour of Holland wants to give recreational cyclists the chance to experience the Dutch cycling landscape. There are six tours, as many as the stages in the Tour of Holland. Partly, at the NTFU’s request, existing events will be adopted and partly new events will be set up by Central Events.
Arjan de Vries, director of the NTFU: “For the NTFU, it is important that cycling is accessible to everyone – from novice sportive cyclists to the experienced climbers. The Tour of Holland fits this seamlessly and offers sporty cyclists the chance to experience a recreational Tour of Holland for themselves.”
The three existing events selected:
- Leyetocht (17 August) – A tour through the Brabant countryside, which has the character of the ride presented to the professionals in Etten-Leur.
- Egberts Fietsen WVB Classic 2025 (21 September) – A tour that presents the best of Drenthe in addition to the VAM mountain, soon to be the Tour of Holland’s showpiece.
- Cols de Vallis (13 September) – Climbing in the Limburg hills cannot be missing from the Tour of Holland.

New tour rides
Central Events signs on to organise three tour rides, two of which are new. Director Laurens Hillman: “When the Tour of Holland asked us to organise tours together, we were immediately enthusiastic. After all, we had previously done this successfully around the Grand Départ of the Tour de France, Vuelta and Giro. We got to know The Hague and Dordrecht during the start of the Tour de France Femmes last year. Like those events, we looked for tours that exude the atmosphere and include part of the course.”
Central Events’ three Tour of Holland tour rides:
- Ronde van Arnhem (21 September) – A unique tour that connects all four climbing areas in Gelderland. Perfect for cyclists who want to test their climbing legs.
- New: Tour Version Dordrecht (5 October) – This tour ride celebrates the legacy of the Tour de France Femmes and passes through the Brabant countryside and the Biesbosch. Part of the route runs along the course of the Tour of Holland.
- New: Tour version The Hague (12 October) – A unique experience along the beach, dunes and the Westland, with part of the route on the Tour of Holland course. The start and finish take place at the cycling track of HSK Trias The Hague.
More about Tour of Holland
The Tour of Holland takes place at six different locations in the Netherlands, with a prologue and five stages showcasing the diversity of the Dutch cycling landscape. Together, the organisers want to show that the Netherlands is the place where cycling lives.
