The Best 3×3 Basketball Players and Breakers Unite at the Iconic Gashouder

The FIBA 3X3 World Tour Amsterdam Masters and the Amsterdam Breaking Championships are collaborating. On October 12, during the World Tour Masters, the world’s top 3×3 basketball players and the best Dutch breakers will come together at the iconic Gashouder in Amsterdam.

While the 3×3 basketball players showcase their skills on the court, the breakers will surprise the audience with their skills. This year, two new Olympic sports unite in a unique way during one of the most innovative sports events of 2024. The urban location perfectly suits both sports 3×3 basketball and breaking.

The Gashouder: The Ultimate Venue
The FIBA 3X3 World Tour Amsterdam Masters, organized by 3X3 Unites, returns to the Gashouder in Amsterdam for the second consecutive year. “The Gashouder has always been a dream for us,” says Jesper Jobse, co-founder of 3X3 Unites. “Last year, we demonstrated how this incredible urban venue could be transformed into a unique sports arena, where we balanced sports and entertainment”.

The success of last year’s event inspired the organization to aim even higher this year, and the addition of the Amsterdam Breaking Championships was a perfect fit. “It’s actually a very logical combination,” Jobse explains. “Breaking is also an urban sport, with the same audience and vibe. They also enjoy entertainment around sports, such as music. By merging these two sports, we aim to create an even more complete and unforgettable program.”

A Lot of Potential
The Amsterdam Breaking Championships debuted last year at the Central Market Hall in Amsterdam, where both men and women competed for the Dutch 1 vs 1 title and International Crew Battles. Sardjoe, Demierre, and the Hustle Kidz claimed the championship. For this event, a custom-built arena featured a circular stage at its center, setting the stage for intense breaking battles.

Niels Markensteijn, Managing Partner at TIG Sports, highlights the partnership: “At TIG, we previously collaborated with 3X3 Unites during the Urban Sports Week in Amsterdam. We’re excited about this next step in our partnership. Breaking has huge growth potential, and by collaborating with 3×3, we can bring these two new Olympic sports together with entertainment. Our mission is to deliver an unforgettable experience for participants and spectators.”

The FIBA 3X3 World Tour Amsterdam Masters will take place on October 12–13 at the Gashouder in Amsterdam. In addition to the world’s best male 3×3 basketball players, this year will also feature the top female 3×3 players battling it out in this iconic venue.
