The Ocean Race

The Ocean Race is without a doubt the sailing race around the world. The fascinating battle between man and unruly natural elements has fascinated sailing fans since the first edition in 1973/1974. Several Dutch boats have played leading roles in the race over the years, and in recent years The Hague has regularly been a stop in the race: both a stop-over and a finish. In The Hague and Scheveningen, Race Week not only focused on top sailing, but also took visitors and school children at the Ocean Live Park on the importance of sustainability with the ocean as an example in a casual way.
