Tata Steel Chess Tournament 2025

This tournament is a household name in the world of chess. For a reason is this tournament also called the Wimbledon of chess. All the big names in chess have visited Wijk aan Zee at least once in the tournament's almost 90-year history. Many amateurs from all over the world also come here to watch and to play in one of the many amateur tournaments organized around Tata Steel Chess. In recent years, at the intercession of TIG Sports & Events, the elite chess players also regularly make trips to other iconic places in the country, such as the theatre, a football stadium or national museum, to play one of the rounds.
