A World Championship Full of History and Innovation
Never had the World Volleyball Championships taken place in the Netherlands. But following the successes and popularity of the Volleyball ladies, the time had come in 2022. The tournament, which was also partly played in Poland until the final weekend, attracted 125,000 visitors over 23 days. Never seen before: in the Gelredome in Arnhem, the indoor football stadium, no less than three (mini) stadiums with playing fields were built. Another touch of innovation from the bowels of TIG. Matches were also played in Rotterdam (Ahoy) and Apeldoorn (Omnisport).
