Ready, set, cross
The annual highlight in cyclo-cross is the UCI World Championships. In 2026 (30 January - 1 February), Hulst will be the setting for the apotheosis of the season. With Belgium and the Netherlands as the two superpowers in cyclo-cross, the medieval fortified town in Zeeland can count on a huge crowd. The expectation that the three-day event will attract 100,000 fans is by no means an exaggeration. The two miles course, which runs partly over Hulst's fortifications, looks like a painting, on which the mud will leave its marks like paint. The artists on the bike, such as Mathieu van der Poel, Wout van Aert and Tom Pidcock, will be only too happy to add their signature.
