World Titles on the North Sea
Off the coast of The Hague, on the waves of the North Sea, 1,200 sailors dreamed of winning the world title. The sixth edition of the Allianz Sailing World Championships, from August 10 to 20, could not have wished for a better arena. For the first time, four para-classes were also integrated into these championships. Ten Olympic classes competed for the world title. The World Cup attracted 50,000 visitors. Thanks in no small part to 600 volunteers, it was a championship that will be remembered for a long time and underlined The Hague's name as the capital of sailing.
