Catch the dream
Nine matches in sold-out arenas, over 100,000 Oranje fans and handball of the very highest level on home soil. The Netherlands fought their way to the final weekend, narrowly missed out on a podium finish after a thrilling bronze-medal match against France, and bid an emotional farewell to icons Lois Abbingh and Estavana Polman. Norway once again proved why they have been the benchmark in world handball for years by claiming the world title.
With “Catch the Dream” as its slogan, TIG Sports & Events - together with SportVibes and the Netherlands Handball Federation - made its entrance into the handball world, turning this World Championship into a top-level sporting event and a complete experience that showed just how great handball can be in the Netherlands.
